The number of programs for reading in  Linux is as large as in Windows. But not all readers for Linux are equally functional and stable (some are really glitching). FBReader in this sense is perfect.

Immediately after installation we recommend you to create a separate catalogue for electronic book files. The matter is that the program can create virtual libraries where you can group books according to a certain principle. The advantages of such libraries is without controversy: you won't have to wander in catalogues looking for the book you need. FBReader supports almost all popular electronic book formats: FB2, PalmDoc, zTXT, TCR and TXT (it's evident that for PDF and DjVu reading other applications are used). It also supports HTML, CHM and RTF, but at reading books in these formats you'll have to forget about tables presentation. As any cool reader FBReader can open archived book files (TAR, ZIP, GZIP and BZIP2).

Program's interface can be called intuitive: there's no traditional menu, toolbar with bottoms are more than enough. In the lower area of the window on default an indicator is shown indicating the total number of pages and the current page as well as system time. The number of program options is great, we'll mention just settings of text formatting and page turning, the ability to mark text and set up the indentation of the text from edges.
